Google Pixel 9a Leaked Ahead of Launch: Price, Specs, and Features You Need to Know

Google is gearing up to launch the Pixel 9a, likely in May next year, though the exact date remains under wraps. However, leaks have already revealed the smartphone’s price, color options, and specifications. Reportedly, the Pixel 9a will be priced the same as its predecessor, the Pixel 8a, but comes with significant upgrades, including a larger battery and the latest Tensor G4 processor.

Expected Price and Color Options

According to a report from Android Headlines, the Pixel 9a will launch at $499 (approximately ₹42,000) for the 128GB storage variant, similar to the Pixel 8a. The phone is rumored to come in three stunning colors: Iris, Porcelain, and Obsidian, just like the Pixel 9.

Enhanced Display and Processor

The Pixel 9a is said to feature a 6.285-inch Actua display with a peak brightness of 2,700 nits and HDR brightness of 1,800 nits, protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, it will run on Google’s powerful Tensor G4 processor paired with the Titan M2 security chip, ensuring both performance and security. The phone is expected to have 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and offer 128GB and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage variants.

Upgraded Camera Setup

For photography enthusiasts, the Pixel 9a is rumored to sport a dual rear camera setup, including a 48-megapixel GN8 quad-dual pixel primary sensor (f/1.7 aperture) and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide Sony IMX712 sensor (f/2.2 aperture). The front camera will reportedly be the same as the one found on the Pixel 8a. Additionally, the phone may feature a Goodx G7 in-display fingerprint sensor for seamless security.

Larger Battery with Better Charging

One of the standout upgrades is the Pixel 9a’s 5,100mAh battery, which is significantly larger than the 4,500mAh battery of its predecessor. The device will support 23W fast charging and 7.5W wireless charging, though it may lack Qi2 wireless charging support.

Durability and Software Support

Like the Pixel 8a, the Pixel 9a is expected to come with an IP68 rating, making it resistant to dust and water. It will reportedly ship with Android 15 and promises seven years of OS updates, ensuring a long-lasting user experience.

Compact and Lightweight Design

The Pixel 9a is said to measure 154.7 x 73.3 x 8.9mm and weigh 185.9 grams, making it a sleek and portable device.

With its upgraded features, premium design, and long-term software support, the Pixel 9a is shaping up to be a compelling choice in the mid-range smartphone market. Stay tuned for its official launch!
