Hyundai Creta EV and Kia Carens EV Spotted Testing in Varanasi: Launch Slated for 2025 with Exciting Features

 

In the rapidly evolving EV market, nearly all major automakers are gearing up to launch electric variants of their popular models. Hyundai and Kia are no exception, preparing to unveil the Creta EV and Carens EV, expected to debut by early 2025. Recently, both models were spotted together during testing in Varanasi, giving us a sneak peek into what these electric SUVs might offer.

Kia Carens EV: What We Noticed During Testing

The Carens EV is set to be based on the upcoming ICE facelift version, with its testing model sporting redesigned alloy wheels. The overall structure closely mirrors the facelifted ICE Carens, including identical sheet metal, but with some distinct updates to the front fascia. A more premium suspension setup is also expected, ensuring smoother rides.

Buyers will likely have the option to choose between 6-seater and 7-seater configurations. The Carens EV is anticipated to feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, and possibly even advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).

Hyundai Creta EV: Key Insights from Testing

The Creta EV maintains a similar silhouette to its ICE counterpart but boasts improved aerodynamics and a sleek new alloy wheel design. Notable exterior features include a closed front grille and exclusive badging that highlights its electric powertrain.

Earlier sightings of the Creta EV also revealed a fresh interior design, featuring a new circular steering wheel with a 3-spoke layout and "CRETA Electric" upholstery branding. New interior color themes are also anticipated.

Expect the Creta EV to come loaded with premium features like dual 10.25-inch screens, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, leather-wrapped steering wheel, electric parking brake with auto hold, USB ports, and a wireless charger. The Creta EV could pack a 45-kWh battery paired with a 138 hp electric motor, offering an estimated range of up to 450 km on a full charge.
