Wait for the Game-Changer: Maruti Suzuki’s 500KM Range Electric SUV is Coming Soon

The future belongs to clean energy, and electric cars are leading the way. While many top carmakers in India have already introduced their electric vehicles (EVs), Maruti Suzuki, the country’s largest automaker, is all set to make a powerful entry. Soon, Maruti will unveil an electric SUV with a robust battery delivering an impressive range of up to 500 kilometers on a single charge. This exciting news comes directly from Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) CEO and MD Hisashi Takeuchi.

Takeuchi shared that Maruti’s electric SUV will feature a 60 kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery, making it a strong contender in the EV market. He also hinted at the company’s plans to expand its EV portfolio, with several products expected in the coming years. Additionally, the company is focusing on growing its export market, especially in regions like Europe and Japan, aiming for significant growth by 2030.

Exporting Clean Energy Cars from India

Maruti Suzuki is not just focused on the Indian market. The automaker has plans to export its EVs to international markets like Europe and Japan. This move will help build customer confidence in its EV lineup. To ease concerns potential EV buyers may have, Maruti plans to leverage its extensive service network to offer robust after-sales support, ensuring customer satisfaction.

Domestically, Maruti aims to adopt a variety of green technologies to combat carbon emissions. Alongside electric vehicles, the company is investing in hybrid models, bio-fuel, and even hydrogen-powered options, all designed to reduce oil consumption and CO2 emissions.

When Will Maruti's Electric SUV Arrive?

Maruti first introduced its concept electric vehicle, the eVX, at the 2023 Auto Expo in India. Although the production model may see some changes, the company is expected to unveil the final version between January 14-20, with a launch slated for April 2025. Packed with advanced features like the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), the eVX is expected to be priced between Rs 20-25 lakh.

What to Expect from Maruti’s Electric SUV

Maruti’s upcoming electric SUV will boast a 60 kWh lithium-ion battery capable of delivering a 500 km range on a single charge. Features expected in the production model include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, multiple drive modes, automatic climate control, wireless charging, ventilated and powered front seats, adjustable headrests, and level-2 ADAS for added safety.

With a range of innovative features and a competitive price, Maruti Suzuki’s electric SUV is set to revolutionize the Indian EV market. Stay tuned for more updates as the launch approaches!
