Exciting New SUVs Hitting the Indian Market: From Citroen Basalt to Mahindra Thar Roxx

The combination of great performance with ample space makes SUVs special. This is why their demand is constantly increasing in the Indian market. To meet this demand, several carmakers are set to launch new models. In the next three to four weeks, brands like Tata Motors, Mahindra, Nissan, and Citroen are introducing some exciting new SUVs.

Tata Curvv EV and ICE

Tata Motors is gearing up to announce the prices of the Curvv EV on August 7, 2024. The starting price is expected to be around Rs 16.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Following this, the Curvv ICE will arrive in showrooms within weeks, featuring a 1.2-liter petrol engine and a 1.5-liter diesel engine. The Curvv EV is anticipated to offer a range of over 600 km and will come with two battery options.

Mahindra Thar Roxx

Mahindra is set to unveil the Thar Roxx on August 15, 2024. This new model will feature several significant cosmetic updates compared to the three-door Thar. It will be larger, providing a more spacious interior for enhanced comfort. Engine options include a 1.5L diesel, 2.2L diesel, and 2.0L petrol. Noteworthy features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen display, digital instrument console, panoramic sunroof, and auto AC.

Citroen Basalt

The Citroen Basalt SUV coupe will be powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine delivering 110 PS of maximum power and 205 Nm of peak torque. It will be available with a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed AT. The production version of the Basalt is set to be introduced on August 2. In the Indian market, the Basalt will compete with the upcoming Tata Curve ICE.

Nissan X-Trail

Bookings for the fourth-generation X-Trail have recently started in India, with prices to be announced on August 1, 2024. This model will be imported to India as a CBU and will be available in limited numbers. It is equipped with a 1.5L three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine paired with a CVT.
